Growing Norfolk Business East Coast Hideaways Opens New Holt High Street Base

East Coast Hideaways will open the doors to its new high street premises on Sunday, 3rd of October, bringing together its holiday property business and sister company EC Property Co under one roof. This will provide property owners, guests and local people a place to meet the team face-to-face.

Founder Karen Richardson launched East Coast Hideaways from home in 2021, with the aim of creating a smaller and more personal alternative to the large holiday-letting agencies.

Since then, the independent business has grown to represent around 35 handpicked properties across Norfolk, Suffolk, Lincolnshire and Scotland, while also supporting local employment as the team has expanded alongside the business.

The new Holt premises represent another significant step for the company and a return to having a physical base following a year spent at Wroxham Barns earlier in its development.

Karen said:

โ€œOpening a shop was always part of the dream when I started East Coast Hideaways from home five years ago. We spent a year based at Wroxham Barns, but the business has grown and evolved considerably since then, so having our own high street base now feels like a really natural next step.โ€

Karen didnโ€™t want to create a corporate office or a traditional letting agency. Instead. She has created a warm and informal atmosphere, where owners can pop in, sit down with the team over a coffee and talk through their property and ideas. It is also a place where guests can come in and discover some of the brilliant places they represent.

โ€œHolt felt like the perfect home for us. It has a fantastic mix of independent businesses and thereโ€™s a real sense of people wanting to support businesses within the town, so weโ€™re very excited to become part of that. Weโ€™ve already had such a positive response, with so many local people stopping as they walk past to say hello, congratulate us and tell us how much they like what weโ€™ve done with the shop. Itโ€™s been really lovely,โ€ she adds.ย

The premises will be home to both East Coast Hideaways and EC Property Co, bringing together holiday letting, property management, interior design and styling services. The team plans to be there most days, including Saturdays, around property visits and appointments, and owners will also be able to arrange a time to meet them there.

Existing and prospective property owners will be able to visit the team to discuss marketing and bookings, property performance and full management services, while EC Property Co will provide advice and support around interior design, styling and wider property projects.ย

Visitors looking for a UK break will also be able to call in and talk to the team about East Coast Hideawaysโ€™ collection of cottages, countryside retreats and family homes, including its growing portfolio across Norfolk and Suffolk.
